February 2024

BZ the cat is about 15 years old now and, in cat years, he’s older than me.
We’ve gone through a lot of cats, but BZ is the first one to live long enough to get old. He’s gotten slow, and we’ve been giving him pills, and now we’re giving him shots and feeding him special food, but no treats. Poor guy. I think BZ might have caught himself his last bird.

He looks like Ironman from the front.
He looks like me from behind.
So why don’t I look like Ironman?

I finished doing what I wanted to get done this winter at the Stowe house.
And, much to my surprise, I actually stopped working on it. I haven’t even been there for a week, and I haven’t missed it.
Time will tell where to go with this but, for now, it’s in a good place.

I learned what I wanted to learn from B3pr.
The bottom line is that it makes all the right moves, but it’s not spry enough to chase a ball. And until I have a physical machine that’s as spry as the ball, I can’t stress-test all my other code. And really, if you can’t stress-test it, then what’s the point?
So I’m doing it one more time, and I’m going to get it right this time, or I’m going to quit.
That means CAD, math and money.
And since I’ve already made all the stupid mistakes, I’ll only be making smart ones this time.

As a machinist, I’m guessing I’m at the top of my game.
