It is the last day of September, and the blog is blank, and it’s now or never.
It has been a terrible month.
Nothing works. Everything hurts.
Take etherCat, for example.
I have made this work before, so I figured it would be a piece of cake to do it again but, try as I might, I could not make it work. My slaves weren’t talking to me, and I spent 2 weeks tracking it down. My blood was boiling!
Take apple picking, for example.
I started the boom and put it thru its paces a week in advance, because I wanted to be ready to pick early apples. But on picking day, it wouldn’t start. And while I was working on it, the apples fell off the trees. Kinda demoralizing.
Plus, my back hurts. Last time it hurt like this, it was from picking too many apples. This time, I’ve hunched it with too much screen time. It’s a vicious circle.
Eventually, I got ethercat working. All my motors work. Stand back.
Apples are a lost cause. Not gonna happen.
